Giving To The World..............

Holding
Abundant Michael

“Today I will use my powers for good”  Love that....heard it while catching up on Grey’s Anatomy Season 8, and it stuck with me. We all have our own powers...some may in fact be medical, some academically, others artistically, some have the 3P’s, positive people power! Whatever it is, it is our responsibility to use them for good. We must join together and share them with the world!

Today's Morning Pep Talk......

A Gift for yourself and others

Lounging in bed very early, cool breeze finally coming in from the window, bed is feeling cozy, a book is calling..."read me" and I don't feel like getting my day started just yet. OK a pep talk is definitely in order!

"C'mon there are great things about this day that are waiting to be discovered. (Gotta love Hope) In Life we connect the dots after moments and events happen and we can see what played a role in getting us to where we want to be. Perhaps today there will be a moment that will later be the dot that helps me connect a dream or vision."

"There is so much we can't control in the world, but there is soooo much we can.... about ourselves as we take this Journey of Life!"

Have a vision/goal/dream: immediate or long term

Put Steps in Place: goals to get you there & get the momentum/ excitement building

Start Making Steps:tackle both the easy & harder ones, however small they need to be at first

Happy Dance: As results start happening (because you made the effort and they will) acknowledge what you have done and rejoice...every step of the way!

The little extra piece that makes it feel fun for me, is that I may encounter someone today that has had a similar pep talk and are on their own vision/dream plan and together we will feel the vibration of supporting each other!

Hope to see ya'!

Cheers ~

** Author's Note: today's post was inspired by conversation with my wonderful family last night. My husband frequently talks about connecting the dots and inspires me daily ~

Grateful For You......................

Visit creative kismet
My experience has been, the more I acknowledge and give thanks for...the more I find to acknowledge and give thanks for! My heart and mind become open to the Blessings around me, just waiting to be seen.

It's during the moments that I am feeling grumbly & not very grateful that I need to really search. I must remind myself the wonderful things haven't disappeared, it's just the filter I am seeing them through has gotten cloudy. So my two cents for today is: "be mindful of the Blessings that surround you and...keep your filter clean!"

Tested And Proven................

"Try pausing right before or after undertaking a new action, even something as simple like putting a key in a lock to open a door. Such pauses take a brief moment, yet they have the effect of decompressing time & centering you."  ~ Br. Steindl-Rast

Read the above quote in my email last week and decided to give it a try. The "yeah right?" side of my brain was a tad skeptical, but I figured "what do I have to lose?" Well, probably an hour all toll at the end of the day if I was stopping with each new action...but I gave it a try just the same.

The results, for me, were actually positive. I did in fact make the conscious effort to take a breath before a new action. Hand on the dial of the washing machine...pause...close my eyes...take a breath...and then a thought of peacefulness. The gentle pause felt calming & I found that they accumulated over the day. I could feel the tightness in my neck and shoulders slowly easing.

Give it a try and feel the benefits of breaking the racing feeling that can so easily happen, as we dash from one thing to the next.

It then occurred to me that the key in the lock example is actually pretty symbolic, because a door has been opened by consciously pausing & decompressing time. It can take us to new places. Where will it take you?

Early Morning Gardening..............

Well, here in the East coast we have been experiencing real high temps. Along with the 90 degree plus days, there is a humidity level that produces sweat like nobody's business. So to outsmart this cursed weather pattern (yes, I realize it's summer and this is what we get...doesn't mean I have to be in it) I have been heading into  the gardens for some weeding and pruning, around 6:15 AM...before the scorching sun comes out and sends me scurrying into the house for some much needed air conditioning.....what can I say "I find breathing important." As well as the hot weather plays an important roll of encouraging my Lazy Days of Summer theme.

One morning I decided to snap a few pictures & enjoy some of the benefits of my  work.

So my message for today Dear Readers is "take time for you, notice the beauty around you and incorporate some Lazy Days of Summer moments into your day. You deserve it!"

Still upright before the heat of the day...
both the gardens and me!

The Closer You Look...........

Symbols of Love are all around us! Sometimes we have to take a closer look....and perhaps use our imagination, but it is there! I have found hearts in various places......rocks at the beach, in the melting snow and just this weekend I spotted one in the picture above. It has been set as my desktop for over a week and just today it hit me, I saw the Love.  So, let me know...can you see the heart in the gardening picture? Remember, sometimes in Life, we have to take a closer look.

A few of the heart rocks I have found

A heart in the melting snow, this past winter

Imagination definitely required....because love is not perfect or easily found.

My Gift...My Reminder

Every once in a while we can all use a tangible reminder.  A reminder that, when we look at it, tells us we've taken time to think of ourselves...we matter.....we make a difference...we are appreciated.

Now rereading what I just typed makes me feel that I need to clarify,  it's not like I don't receive those reminders from my loved ones...just sometimes they feel a little sparse, in comparison to all that I am doing and what I need. There I said it! A tad whiney I know ...but it's how I was feeling  when I walked into a wonderful little gift shop, last week.

I wishfully looked through a collection of bracelets and then decided to purchase one,  just for me.......just because!  At checkout I was asked if it was a gift...indeed it is I answered. She then thoughtfully wrapped the box and handed it to me.....thank you very much I grinned!

Be kind to yourself dear readers. Whether it be a little gift wrapped something.....just for you....just because, time to yourself, a pampering treat or a visit with friends. Keep yourselves full so that you may have enough to give to others and perpetuate the acts of goodness that help us kiss the world with kindness.
